Literary and artistic residence “Valer” was opened in DniproIan”

A memorandum on the establishment of the Literary and Artistic Residence “Valer has been signed in DniproJan ”- a new creative space for Ukrainian writers and translators.

The initiative to create a residence belongs to the head of the Art Council under the mayor of Dnipro, the artistic director of the DSU theater Hryhoriy Helfer. The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Art Council under the mayor of Dnipro, the Museum of Literary DnieperI ”and Pen Ukraine.

The project is named after the writer and translator ValerYana Pidmohylny, whose life and work are closelyrelated to our city.

The highlight is that not every city gets the opportunity to become a meeting place for Ukrainian and world authors. Dnipro got such an opportunity!

Residence “ValerJan ”will become a space where writers can live, work, meet readers and discover the city. And the Dnieper, no doubt, will remain in the lines, stories and books that will be born here.

The first resident “ValerJan ”was planned to be adopted in September 2026.
